Glyphs sometimes disables LTTR/INK after a crash so you can no longer use skeletons. This article contains the steps to recover and get access to the LTTR/INK tool again.
When Glyphs disables LTTR/INK, you should see the following dialog after you restart Glyphs:
1. Upgrade Glyphs
There were lots of fixes and new APIs in recent Glyphs versions focused on LTTR/INK needs so there is a good chance the issue disappears if you upgrade Glyphs. Minor upgrades within the same major version (2.x, 3.x, 4.x) are free; moving to a new major version may need a separate Glyphs licence – check current terms on the Glyphs website.
- Double check you are using an up-to-date version of Glyphs.
- If not, upgrade and try to reproduce the issue in the current version of Glyphs.
- If you have the issue again try a Cutting Edge version of Glyphs (you can enable them at Glyphs > Preferences > Updates > Show Cutting Edge Versions) and try to reproduce the issue with it.
If you have issues with upgrading, please contact Glyphs support directly. In order to downgrade from a Cutting Edge version to the latest stable version, uncheck Show Cutting Edge Versions and then download and install Glyphs from their website.
2. Re-enable LTTR/INK
You need to Remove the LTTR/INK plug-in and install it again to unblock it.
- Click the Remove button or manually delete the plugin file from
~/Library/Application Support/Glyphs 3/Plugins(Letterink.glyphsTool) or~/Library/Application Support/Glyphs 4/Plugins(LTTRINK.glyphsTool), depending on your Glyphs version. - Restart Glyphs.
- Download LTTR/INK from our website.
- Install LTTR/INK by following the steps in the downloaded package.
- Restart Glyphs.
