- Blackletter textura—suitable for beginners and practice translation contrast
- Modern free-hand calligraphy—after mastering basics
- English round-hand style—for practising expansion contrast
- Psychedelic style—experiment with multiple contrast styles, including reverse contrast
Later you might need to combine skeleton stroke shapes and ordinary outlines to achieve more complex shapes for instance using serifs.
